Hay guys just want to know, a newly bought solar filter with some very very tiny little holes, is bad or good?(my cousin bought one) [smilie=bad-atmosphere.gif]

Bad. Not safe. Ask for a new one.

if its big enough for you to see the holes, dont use it.
Return to the shop and ask for exchange.
DO NOT try using it.

When i shone torchlight on it the tiny holes can be seen. But it looks ok on the outside.

I'm sure the dealer will exchange a new one, as he/she will know the importance of safety especially when viewing the Sun. There are not many dealers here who sells solar filters. BTW, which solar filter is this?

Please do not use solar filters with holes!
[80% Steve, 20% Alfred] ------- Probability of Clear Skies = (Age of newest equipment in days) / [(Number of observers) * (Total Aperture of all telescopes present in mm)]
