The famous Toshimi Taki (of "crayford focuser for poor man" fame) also has some very good quality star maps (easily Uranometria 2000 class) at his web site...

I took the trouble of printing these out on a big printer and binding them together... but in the end you're better off buying Uranometria :-P because you'll never get the nice binding and stuff by rolling your own.

Hi,
Star maps can be use in any country... there is no different. Or do you mean planisphere?? If planisphere, Astro Scientific Centre got one for equator.

Have a nice day.

Yup. Albert from the Science Centre Astroscientific shop had collaborated with fellow astronomers to produce a starmap and planisphere for you in Singapore. [smilie=bye.gif]

Hi,

If you have a iPhone, iPod touch or iPad you can consider just getting StarMap Pro and download it. IMO, it is way better than all the paper kind of starcharts and may be even cheaper.

So basically for a beginner like me, all I need is a pair of binos and my iPhone to start off on this great hobby right? Oh and good seeing conditions too.
