Online photographic atlas of the Milky Way

Post by rcj »

Hey guys!

Not sure if this has been posted before. There is a photographic atlas of the Milky Way available online on the web at:

Quite a useful and impressive tool for both observers and imagers. The only caveat is it does not have an annotated layer to point out where are the DSOs and constellation lines of identification, so you must have some fundamental knowledge of the constellations and DSOs.

Have fun!

You can try the interactive version from the same site. Click on the "i" to show constellation lines, names and some bright stars:

It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."
