Observing at Punggol Waterway?

Post by Gary »

Saw the place on TV news just now. Seems like a good wide open space to host sidewalks and star parties.

This video is taken around Jun 2011 by a youtuber.

This one by another in Jan 2011.

In June the lifts still have not been turned on. Unfortunately now the blazing white spotlights have turned the riverfront into daytime which is a real pity as the river was very nice once your eyes are dark adapted. I remember people saying there are more stars in Punggol than Singapore!
Now all it is is a white light area. And there's a new driving range smack where my obbing spot used to be. Sigh!
Another issue is mist: There's frequently mist in the area due to the proximity of the sea.
Hopefully the new park they are building will have some darker spots near Coney Island.
DON'T PANIC
