I'm wondering:
I'm contemplating a mass-market dobsonian but eventually if I want to upgrade I might want to sell.
Would you accept a 14" f/4.5 Dobsonian, standard mass market type (e.g. meade, Orion) but comes with Goto and tracking, say 3-5 years old in good condition for $2500?
Just wondering if there's any market if I decide to change my mind

Just to gauge an idea: How much would you pay for this, if you were to buy a good used one?

Rather convert the GOTO cost to bigger aperture or better optics for primary mirror.
Someone's mass-market dob coming soon. Can't wait to first light.

Erm, there's no point paying a deposit and then the world ends before the item comes, right? Besides, if it really ends then I'll get to see the Universe for real, never mind scope and atmospherics *grin*
But anyway most people agree it doesn't mean the world is ending, just that everything stops.... and then gravity takes over... and all the solar masses attract... and we crash into the sun..... oh.....

Anyway, just to say it out (no point keeping a secret), I'm looking at the Skywatcher 14" with Goto for SGD 3500 (current promo). It will need a shroud, of course, and may need a paracorr.
Just concerned that eventually if it turns out to be too big for me to use frequently enough I may want to re-sell it.
Of course what I'd really like is a large Obsession or Starmaster with Servocat . None at my price range though

There is always ExtraSpace and StorageHub. Out of sight, out of mind, no more nagging.
On the subject of mass-market dob mirrors, check out this Jupiter video by Cory Schmitz through his Zhumell Z10 10" dob:
Not too shabby for a mass-market 10" dob at USD$489.98 (before shipping) eh?
