Japanese Yen at 5-yr low against S$

Post by starfinder »

Good news! The Japanese Yen is now at its lowest level against the Singapore Dollar since mid-2008:

It's now SGD 1 = JPY 75.9 JPY,
or JPY 1000 = SGD 13.2.

That translates to a savings of about 17% over its average in the past few years of around SGD 15.9 or 63-1.

Time to book holidays there, or order that dream Takahashi! Better still, fly there and visit their factory. Even better yet, fly there to view Comets Panstarrs and Ison.

I think the Yen should have been depreciated a long time ago, given the long depressed state of their economy. Was way overvalued. It's better to reduce national wealth but create jobs, than see those jobs taken up in China where it's cheaper.
