Hi,
They are a lots of advantage of getting to the Moon.. If we want to explore other parts of the solar system or even stars, what is the main obstacle?? The answer is the earth gravity... the rocket that launch from earth is basically contain 90% of fuel just inorder for the rocket to get out of earth. Imagine if you set up a base and launch a rocket from the Moon, the amount of fuel that can be save.
Also, in military point of view, if nobody go to the Moon except me, I can set up a missile base on the Moon and launch the Missile from it... It is basically undetectable until it is entering the atmosphere and it will be already too late.
So, if I'm not wrong, the Moon will play an importance role in the future...
