Sorry bro,
Accordingly to NKF patron,S$660,000 is peanut. So yours and my contribution is not only even "crumb" to them.
I have just cancelled by monthly contribution and diverge to others.
Felt so cheated.

I am really shocked that someone with her profile could use the word "peanuts" for $600000 in public.

Most of the people who donate their hard earn money will never get to see 600K in their lifetime, yet this guy is getting it all in a year......u call that peanuts?

I am dissapointed.

I am careful about giving to charities. If I give cash, I would insist on visiting the Homes or Hospitals. A better way to donate, I feel, is to call them up and ask what they need, and then buy it for them. That way, you know where the money goes and giving an item that they need is more meaningful than faceless cash.

My aunt donates her time to help looking after the Aged regularly. Time is precious...

Cheers!

Honestly, I expected such high salaries for the NKF CEO. I mean, every year, they have that charity show, and earn millions out of it. But it's really amazing how our money can become a gold tap. I think NKF should release their spending statistics to big time donators, and inform them about where their money is going to.

Umm... Tsunami relief fund got kenna eaten up by the Red Cross or not hah? =P

I have very strong feelings about this.... literally, I think NKF has used compassion and the goodwill of the public to cheat us of our money.

I'm never ever ever going to donate a single cent to NKF ever again.... other charities are much more worth it. If I had the money, I would donate my money to those who r REALLY in need, like those old poor desolate man by the road, or those old folks' n sick homes struggling to survive...

NKF is really too commercialised. They harness the media for their purpose to get ever increasing amnts of donations. And for what? Their reserves can last 30 years! Their expenditure for one of the years was only 7.2 million. For every cent we donate, we are actually lining the executives pockets with gold. How much of our donations actually go to helping kidney patients? The poor souls still have to fork out they own money to pay(co-pay). 1.8 million dollars in 3 years for a CHARITY head? That's almost equivalent to daylight robbery.

$990 Gold taps, $660 toilet seats, 8 mercedes, road tax n servicing paid by NKF, first class ticket and many months of bonuses later, I'm sealing up my student NKF donation booket up NOW. Without a single cent in it.

directors of those listed companies do draw quite a big sum, but at least those are decided by the shareholders. i'm very curious, the renumeration in nkf, who makes the decision? in the eye of law, does the donors have an interest in the company? who can take legal action in the case of misapprioriation? anyway, let's hope they have police on standby at the nkf hq, i bet there are going to be lots more vandals.

CEOs of listed companies do draw big salaries. That is because they make critical decisions and take risks for the company to improve profits. NKF CEO don't need to take such risks. It is the MediaCorpTV artistes who take risks during the charity shows. I wonder how they feel now, seeing that they risks they take only result in fatter wallets of the CEO.

For non-profit organizations that are dependent on public donations, they should show how much of their money is spent on salaries and bonuses of their senior execs.

For those of you who do not know of the online petition, it is here:

Note the number and click 'reload' or 'refresh' after every 5-10minutes and see the numbers jump :-)

From 1 show per year...to 3 shows per yr..ON TOP of several other charity shows! Average out we are milked once every 2 months!

WOW.

Luckily, i'm a blood donor. Only.

Well, save for the mandatory 5 bucks to Community Chest every month.

Certainly Blood donation is better, Blood is life, applicable to all life threatening situations. Although we know that HSA resell donated blood to the needy, they are also at a subsidised rate in "c" class, which is good.

My frustration here!!!

600K is peanut to NKF with a reserve of 200 plus million... Who quoted that har?

Then my contribution of S$10 monthly for the pass 2 years, S$5 for the previous 3 years is what to them then? Sperm? To save money, I don't even have a phone or internet access at home, and all my money donated to them can't even buy his water f!@%$# tap!!!

I'll divert my donation to ren-ci or KDF instead. During the bad times when people are being retrench, someone got 10-12 months bonus! That's really too much!!!!
