I heard of it. Supposed to have great animation but then again, the original series was already very good except the ending. Really hated all those abstract endings.....

Just finished watching "A Place Promised in Our Early Days".
Its from the same guy who gave us "Voices from a Distant Star".
This time round, he had 2 other animators helpiing because it is a full length movie (90 min). The story is a little slow and I started to realise what was happening only during the last 1/3 of the show but.....

WOW! I kid you not, the animation and cinematography is the BEST I have ever seen ANY animation, be it Japanese, Pixar or Disney pictures.
You have to see it to believe it. Practically every frame is rich in such details!

This is the trailer but its low resolution does not do justice to it.
You need to see it in its orignal DVD. (available at DVD shops now)

another high resolution animation: appleseed.

Honestly the story, combat scenes and visual fx are to die for.

Oh yes, Appleseed Ex Machina!

The animation and 3D rendering quality is spectacular!

And its directed and Produced by John Woo. Very fierce stuff, be sure to check it out.

I watched both Appleseed and its sequel. They're not bad. The visuals on the original one is better while the second excelled in action sequences as is expected from something touched by John Woo.

Most recently I have bought or rented and watched MaiHime, MaiOtome, MaiOtomeZwei and the shots from the lastest MaiOtome sifr is great too! [smilie=cool.gif]

Ah yes I've been a Studio Ghibli / Miyazaki fan since Nausica and the Valley of the Wind.

My favorites are probably the most recent Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away though :D

Ghibli! I love their movies :) I think it's the anime equivalent of Pixar.
Stargazing ... is an excuse to stay up past bedtime that never fails!
