Hi,
No matter which side are you in, you are all in the right side. Both side produce great camera and lens, so it's just personal preference.

Anyway, the most important factor is the photographer, not the camera.

By the way, Canon DSLR still had the slight advantage over Nikon DSLR in Astrophotography... at least Canon DSLR produce true RAW file. Just wonder did the latest Nikon DSLR produce true RAW file??

think will give the lens a miss. The astrophotography capability of the lens is not that good too.
Hey, check out this site, zoom lenses and astrophoto is a big no no? Don't think so, this lady from uk shoots wonderful pictures with her 100-400L at various fl.

Those are some really encouraging shots from zoom lenses and DSLR.

Like the colours and the framing of the horsehead neb.

I have the f4 IS version and it weight is manageable even for travel. Bought mine from HK, saved about S$200 and can use credit card.
