I'm shock to learn this news. I just recently change from XP to Vista and now a new OS is coming out. I wonder if Windows 7 is gonna replace the Vista problems. Haiz when will this ever end??

Hi,
Not sure how good/bad will be Windows 7, but I'll still stick with Windows XP.

Anyway, IMHO, Windows Vista is possibly the worst of all Windows operating system to date... just second to Windows ME. Hope Windows 7 will be more efficient and more stable than Windows Vista.

Have a nice day.

They're rushing Win 7 because they know that Vista has failed and they need to come up with something to fill the Vista gap. Not going to hope for much, because Win 7 is built on top of Vista.

I'm sticking to XP while slowly switching over to Mac OS X. Now I'm running XP on OS X, and slowly changing my applications to OS X. I love the improved efficiency - faster, much faster boot up and shutdown times!

Windows 7 will probably make my 4GB RAM computer look puny...

i am already on windows7 build7022 ....and i think it is great...with May 5 windows7 RC ( release candidate ), it will be even better.
With regards to starting up starting up and shutting down of os, just get SSD ( solid state drive ) for your OS hd and it will be as fast as apple i book...

Honestly I've not had many problems with Vista.

Performance issues mostly, but Service Pack 1 fixed most of it, performance difference is <1-5% between Vista Ultimate 64 and XP Pro SP3 on my setup.

I wouldn't recommend running it on older hardware though.

That said I'm quite liking the Windows 7 RC1 - Build 7100.

Could never justify buying an SSD though, the capacities are just too puny. I'm running a pair of WD Caviar Black 1TB drives in RAID0.
Couldn't afford a pair of 300GB Velociraptors :(
