No issue. Last time I also handheld 500mm with 1.5x FOV crop camera, f5.6-f8, in morning sun 8-9pm, pretty dark subjects (birds). ISO 800 thereabouts though. Shuttle shd be great.swat_pup6433 wrote:hardcore! did he just hand held a C6/8?
Photographers also handheld 600mm f4 lenses before, no time to mount so as to capture the moment. Sometimes it can come out ok, or even get you that winning shot. They have stabilisation though, so gets you 2 stops advantage easily.
Doesn't look that great though.... dunno if its misfocus or miscollimated....or due to atmospheric turbulence since its on the horizon. Or maybe that's just the max picture quality of the SCT design. Somebody shd try with a 5" APO.

Has anyone ever seen the shots they produce through that setup?
If you think about it, there's no point hand holding a telescope - the focus control is not adjustable by hand when hand held.
Or is the subject supposed to be the model holding the known heavy weight........ hmmm........ ;)
(Remember "See my matching pipes on mocca?)
