Space Battleship Yamato

Post by Airconvent »

For those old enough to remember this classic series about the struggle of an earth battleship against as superior alien force to save the earth, a Japanese live action movie is due to be released on 1 Dec 2011 in Japan! Wow! This was one of my first favourite anime... [smilie=cool.gif]

This was the original 1979 anime movie of the original anime series.

Hi
I added the trailer for the anime movie too.
Wished they would do a macross live action movie. Tobey Maguire is taking too long and that was for the robotech version. Nothing beats doing the original! [smilie=crying3.gif]

OMG !!! That's so coolz!!

Yah, I remember that cartoon when I was younger. But I didn't really catch it as it was in Chinese.

Hope the new movie has English tracks on DVD or at least English subtitles.

When was that? I saw it on TV way back in the 1980 and it was dubbed in English then. I remembered how cool it was with their "wave motion engine" and it was the first cartoon that brought a tear to my eye as the dying captain viewed the planet on its arrival.

OO...this will be good!! Great to see good anime come back!!

I do agree and hope they make a Macross movie! Just don't ruin it like most adaptations! Perhaps a Ghost in the Shell?? Gotta get a great gal to play the Major!!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!

Tobey McGuire (mr spiderman) was supposed to have made a live action movie for Robotech (the US dubbed version of macross) but so far nothing came out of it...Laura Linney would have bee good for Lisa but unfortunately, she is too old for that role already as the project has stalled for so many years. Katie Holmes look good a Lynn Minmei! [smilie=cool.gif]
