Yes, it is a normal phenomenon for typhoon / hurricane to appear north of equator from around May to Oct and around Nov to Apr south of equator.

Well, yes those are normal phenomena;but certain solar activities just add more punch/fuel to it or alter the process slightly.Slightly for the earth means big for us small humans.

The topic is not weird at all,and throughout history we had been trying to find patterns in the behaviour of nature;and if we succeed its a blessing. Some of the more recent one include relationship between earthquake and solar activities;earthquake and position of the moon, sun, planets and also you can see how ancient civilisations pray to the sun--thinking that it will work--but one thing is clear, the SUN DEFINITELY AFFECT OUR WEATHER--the question is how and as is all sciences, before we can understand, look for pattern of behaviour first;nothing weird.

By,the way,the active band is still there--thanks to a 10 min gap in the sky--and it seems that this northern band is still going strong.More precipation expected--hope not in Spore as we need to see the comet!
