Better Accessibility for Mersing?

Post by Airconvent »

Was reading about the new cross country highway that joined from the NS highway towards the west coast. Its a much longer journey but as it uses the second link and most highway all the way, you bypass the causeway and all those traffic light and jam-infested trunk roads to Mersing. Anyone tried it out?
With Mersing coming back into favour, this highway is a good thing for people travelling North for obs.

The highway is definately a smoother ride to go up north,
However from what i see, the distance is longer and there will be extra toll charges, so i guess to avoid the jam only way is to set off early. Anytime after 5pm on fri is a no go time. Sat and Sun going in is worst since after the implementation of the stupid fingerprint systems.

So, old way to mersing is the best way for the time being lol

Also, might want to be careful with the new checkpoint thinggy in Malaysia. Just read the papers about SG visitors going up to an empty checkpoint, then kena 2 days interrogation + lockup cos passport not stamped.

Just a word of caution. When our neighbours up north make some new changes, there are usually hiccups for a while.
