Super Long August Weekend

Post by Gary »

For those who are thinking of observing overseas, the last weekend of August may be a good period.

Polling day for the Presidential Election is Saturday 27 August and will be declared as a public holiday. The following Tuesday, 30 August, is Hari Raya Puasa and thus also a public holiday.

New Moon is on Monday 29 August.

So if you take leave on Monday 29 August, you can go for a 4 day 3 night astro trip.

If you are eligible to vote, you may vote early in the morning and leave Singapore in the afternoon. If you are observing in Johor, chances are you can still receive Channel 5 or 8 if you wish to see the voting results live on TV.

Please take note during Hari Raya Puasa period, the Malaysian Customs *may* be extra strict and do expect massive jams and queues during peak periods.
