Humans did landed on the moon and the projet did yield a lot of good stuff.One of these is the maths software(used in the fast calculation needed in the analysis of ....) which ultimately turn into todays program like mathcad,mathslab,mathematica etc.In the 60's they already had a similar advanced working version and only declassified in the late 70's for use in the universities.
Thus there is no doubt that they landed on the moon and the project did benefit us in many ways--the above being one of them.
