ORANGE Celestron C5 for sale!

Post by swat_pup6433 »

hello guys,
well, after being inactive in the visual side of the
astronomy world for soo long, i suddenly came to realise that my
orange little C5 had been sitting around in the equiptment cupboad
for quite some time now. so now i have finally decided to sell if off
to someone who does more visual? its a waste seeing it sit there
doing nothing. And also needed to fund some new toys.
As you should have realised the older C5 uses a fork mount. but i
dont have the mount. so it is currently using 2 vixen Tube rings and
a dovetail plate, thus it can be used on any camera tripod setup like
the one i am using, a Manfotto 410 slow motion gear head wif a 055
tripod. great mobility for a small setup like this.Included in the
package would be the OTA, its orgnal finder, tube rings, 3 eps. 17mm,
5mm and a 30m. solar filters and diagonal.
However there are several points i wish the next owner would note.
i am not providing the tripod or the dove tail plate. reason being i
still need the tripod for future use and the dovetail plate is still
under the school. the dove tail plate can bought from shops for
example astro scientific for around 50 buckz. The orginal 5X24
finderscope dat came with it is rather beat up cosmetically , there
are several scratches caused by the screws used to hold the finder in
place. and also the scope does need to be recollimated. its been
awhile since its last used.
sorry for the super lenghty compo.. for those interested you may
send me a mail or even arrange to take a look at the scope in SP.
lastly i would hope to fatch around $800 SGD for it ?

for those whom are interested, i do
have some photos taken through the C5. its uploaded in the singastro
photo album, under the folder named Zong Ye. the photos of the moon
and the recent venus transit where both taken by the trusty C5.

clear skies!
