Update 5 May 2017
I seriously need to reduce clutter and this newtonian is now surplus to my requirements. I am motivated to move it out but am not gonna give it away.
Good for imaging and also can be used as a dob for visual.
This is a heavily modified Astro-Tech AT8IN imaging newtonian (US $500 new, without shipping/GST)
Modifications:
1) aluminium tube which is much stiffer than the original tube ($230)
2) stronger collimation springs
3) relocated collimation locking bolts
4) Feathertouch 2" low-profile focuser (US $370 new, without shipping/GST)
5) nice vinyl imitation carbon fibre wrap
6) Televue Paracorr, type 1, no tunable top (maybe S$250 used)
7) Also comes with a dobsonian base that I made from an Ikea side table - http://orlygoingthirty.blogspot.sg/2016 ... -ikea.html
Comes with a Losmandy or Vixen plate (choose) and tube rings.
Note that because of the custom, lengthened tube, this will not reach focus with a DSLR unless the Paracorr is attached. So I'm including the Paracorr.
Also, there is no option for the stock focuser - again, because of the lengthened tube, a DSLR won't reach focus with the stock focuser which is too tall, so the Feathertouch must be used.
So total price would be S$1700 for the major components, not including shipping or GST (and shipping is considerable).
I would be looking for S$1000 OBO. The Feathertouch focuser alone is roughly half of my asking price.
It would be a pity to part this out, hence hoping someone is interested.

Hi Orly
Might you still have the stock focuser and if so be willing to sell it (I only need the drawtube)?
Thanks,
Philip Lauer Sr.

Update 12 Jun 2017:
I will sell the newtonian with its dob mount for $500 to get it out of the house.
Caveats: I will remove the Feathertouch focuser, and the laser collimator and paracorr are not included (I will replace the focuser with a single-speed Orion).
Good opportunity to get a decent dobsonian at a low price.
