my 9 year old boy is bugging me to get him a scope, and I did some reading up on the internet (so much to learn!)

looking to get a beginner scope to pique his interest.

Read multiple reviews and came across this as a good beginner scope.

Good to intro astronomy to your kid. If you can't find any suitable scopes in the buy-sell section, can also consider dropping by Astroscientific at the Science Centre to check out the physical items and they do have some decent deals (not taobao prices of course). Or you can try any of the vendors listed here also. 4" scope is a good choice for a child's first scope too. You can consider the mini Dobs instead of alt-azi or eq mounts as it is easier to manage.
