Your sphinx may be marginal

6" f8 is long and heavy.

True, it would be just about the limit of weight but then the AR-6 would be used for visual, not photography :)
Still, cannot be TOO tempted. I have a perfectly good ED80 and cannot go spluring on scope after scope after scope :) If not I'll be a telescope collector, not an astronomy hobbyist!

There is no such thing as perfectly good telescopes. Hahaha. It's only how deep you want to look into each telescope's flaw. :P

It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."

Naw, I don't want to look into a scope's flaws.... I want to look into its eyepiece! *grin*
heh.... must remain satisfied...... must remain satisfied....

Anyway, I think I've hijacked this thread enough :)
Upz for a good deal!
Large scope, heavy and long but fantastic light gathering power, good contrast inherent in a refractor, no need to muddle with collimation and violet haze evident only on bright objects, partially correctable with a minus violet filter (which rlow is selling :) )
Equivalent 6" Achros selling new for USD600 + at least $150 of shipping.
