WTB : Takahashi FSQ106N

Post by heyjojos »

I'm looking for a Takahashi FSQ106N. Needs to be fully functional and in excellent condition especially on the objective.

If you have a extender and diagonal please advise cost as well. Please also advise if you have the manual. Thanks.

I actually don't think there's one in Singapore; you might try A-Mart. I saw a few :)
Be aware while the OTA itself is comparable in cost with an NP101is, the accessories will be expensive. Its a better bet to get a "complete set" as the price tends to reflect the used state of the accessories and/or you don't need to source for them individually on the resale market.

Trying to look for a complete set if available. The one in cloudy nights is a FSQ106ED... a bit out of my budget... :(

Lift pollution plays a very important part as well. Personally I find I can see down to Mag 9 stars on a clear night with my 80mm achromat but once I get within
20deg of the CBD lights, it drops to Mag 2/1.
I think if you really want a largish, top flight astrograph at used rates, then buy an A mart account and wait until one comes up. The $12 it costs you will be lost in the cost/savings for this purchase, not to mention you get a good idea of market rates.
Or consider a less high end scope but use a flattener :) I have a lovely, full frame flat field 8" cat but I've taken it out only 3-4 times in the last 6 months due to work/family etc.
