[Meade Export Dept has now decided to offer only UHTC models for overseas,
which makes a lot of sense considering the cost of freight would be the

Yes, I do agree the prices are on the higher end.
You probably have to weigh the pros & cons.

Anyway negotiation is always open ...

Hi Wee Kiong
I'm curious about the "optimise for our lower latitudes".
Can you elaborate on this? Does it enhance better goto accuracy?

The ETX Autostar version 2.73K is a little exclusive bit of code Meade wrote to overcome an ocassional firmware bug that affects only tropical latitudes. It has not been made available on the website but only thu distributors near the equator.

Thanks but does it include the enhancements of the later autostar versions.
The current version addresses the motor unit failure problem.

From what I know all distributors will get all current updates or enhancements that Works in its areas.
