Arief, it is actually based on the older tube, the black paint was replaced by ivory white powder coating (to match the color of Mewlon 210), dew shield retaining ring was replaced by teflon/phosphorous bronze and other hand-tightening rings such as dewshield cap and 2nd tube compression ring were re-grooved to get a surer and better feel.

Here's the pics of Astroslew on Surveyor wooden tripod.
Just found out last week that not all surveyor tripods have the same center hole size on its hub. Weiming and I tested astroslew on his aluminum surveyor, the mount couldn't sit safely on the base because it has a slightly bigger center hole than the one on my wooden tripod. Will need to insert a metal plate (that has a smaller center hole) between the tripod base and mount head to fix it. So, if you intend to use astroslew with surveyor tripod, better buy the mount head first, get the 3/8" bolt, and test it on the tripod you want to buy.

Arief, thanks for the info. Luckily the Astroslew did sit safely on my 'new' surveyor tripod!

I only know one Spore guy who has that scope. But I thought he was in US.

Don't tell me there is another person now

BTW, is there such a setup above with slow motion controller....i am trying to put a mewlon and a flt-110 on one mount that can also track....

The above setup looks unbalance and the pier is sinking due to high load...

According to the owner, the Astroslew handles the 11kg OTA smoothly and easily even without using the counterweight. A pneumatic pier is probably better in this setup.
