Antares 8x50 Finderscopes w/removable wire reticle eyepieces

Post by harlequin2902 »

Hi all,

This 8x50 finderscope w/removable wire reticle eyepiece from Antares just came in today for evaluation.

There are 4 models in this finderscope series from Antares. All of them come with removable and focusable 1.25" wire reticle eyepieces (non-illuminated) and a metal dew shield. Available in 3 colours. Black, Blue, White. If you do not already have a 50mm bracket of your own, it has to be ordered seperately according to your mounting requirements.

- 8x50 straight through
- 8x50 90 degree
- 8x50 90 degree erect image
- 8x50 45 degree erect image

The 8x50 45 degree erect image version shown here with the Intes-Micro 50mm bracket

Hi,

To avoid getting the 'yellow card' again, I'll just put the pricing here :) :

- 8x50 straight through S$150.00

- 8x50 90 degree S$165.00

- 8x50 90 degree erect image S$180.00

Shipping is exclusive. If ordered and shipped alone, estimated shipping cost per finderscope is S$60 by UPS.

I happen to have an order ready for submission by Tuesday and to be flown in by UPS. The box is already quite packed, but if you want to hop on, you only need to pay half the shipping cost (i.e S$30) if you confirm your order with me by 23:59 on Tuesday.

Regarding the bracket, can you send me an e-mail with close-up pictures of the finderscope attachment post on your C8 and also the base of the current finder bracket ? This is because I'm not 100% sure if the Antares brackets are able to fit Celestron bases.

UPDATE 15/6 :

We just received this sad news by airmail from Canada :( :

The main jist of it is like this : Due to the difficulty in obtaining certain parts from the suppliers for the complete construction of these finderscopes, all Antares 8x50mm finderscope w/removable wire reticle eyepiece have been discontinued. Sales will still continue from the limited remaining stock held in Canada until all are sold out.

(note : 2 lines of 50mm finderscopes are still available from Antares. (1) The 7x50mm long eye relief series and (2) the 8x50mm illuminated reticle series.)

So, is the above pricing for the 8X50 illuminated reticle series? Is it the illuminated cross-hairs or disc?

Hi,

Everything posted in this entire thread from intro and pricing to news of discontinuation is for the Antares 8x50 finderscopes w/removable wire reticle eyepieces (standard, non-illuminated type).

The Antares 8x50 finderscopes with illuminated reticle eyepieces have illuminated discs, not illuminated crosshairs.
