130mm Truss Dob (Special Edition)
130mm Truss Dob (Special Edition)
Just received a new and special edition products from Sky-Watchers.
I would describe it as 5" collapsible truss tube dob. Very portable. Setup in an instant.
Diameter: 130mm
Focal Length: 650mm
include red-dot finder, 2 1.25" eyepieces
I listed the price as RM1295 in my website, but I can offer it here at RM1195, including shipping to Singapore via EMS.
I also received the following products from Sky-Watchers
12" truss dob
120mm Equinox ED
80mm Black Diamond ED
80mm Pro Series ED
180mm Mak-Cass
Field-Flattener for 80ED
Perseid,
can you give the dimension of the base of this scope? This scope looks good......not too big, not too smal.
However, can the tube be rotated so that the eyepiece position can be rotated to the most comfortable viewing position?
Also, what is your selling price for the 120 Equinox ED? PM me if neccessary

I don't have the dimension of the base with me at this time. But I would estimate it to be around 12". I'll get back to you by afternoon tomorrow.VinSnr wrote:Perseid,

Unfortunately, the tube cannot be rotated. It is fixed on a vixen style dovetail, which is then attached to the mount. The good thing is that you can put any small scope with vixen style dovetail on the mount, such as 80mm ED.
I found some extra info in this company's website

As for the 120mm Equinox, the price is RM7900 including shipping via EMS. It only comes with heavy duty bracket and vixen style dovetail plus aluminum casing. No diagonal, finder scope or eyepieces.

Hi
While it looks suspiciously like a recent Celestron scope, the 5" aperture and compact truss design does make it look delicious! Its a beauty. I would have got one if not for the fact I am a goto guy...heh heh

The upper base board is 12.5" in diameter, while the bottom triangular board is 14".VinSnr wrote:Perseid,

When looking at building, the eyepiece is position so that you are looking down to the ground. This is good to prevent stray lights. I test it out this afternoon and don't really notice any distracting stray lights. If you are afraid, you can stick a cardboard opposite the eyepiece.
I think this scope should be good for deepsky.

Odd...its not indicated.
It claims not collimation required. My guess the scope is primed for wider views i.e. low mag....
