or the other way round?
And this is like new moon period. So you won't use it frequently.
U keep take in-take out the clip on, many dust will get into the sensor chamber.
Try first with your 7D unmod.
Btw way do you have a tracking Equatorial mount?
Nikon or Canon, for astrophotog

It is risky to mount a DSLR on the Polarie. It is too heavy.
I think it was designed with the intention to use with compact camera.
Mount a compact camera and play with it.

thats one of the reason i wan to sell away the 7d initiallybeginner wrote:It is risky to mount a DSLR on the Polarie. It is too heavy.

cos too heavy...
there were several setup trial that i nearly drop my camera due to poor ballhead (maybe hexagon poorer grip) grip.
i had tot of getting a nikon v2 after selling 7d
nikon v2 2.7 crop factor.
but some one have to buy my 7d first.
thats why i was asking if i really should keep the canon for mod later or just stick with nikon from now on, before the 7D really leave me for good.

Liquidice,
I know you felt lost at this time.
First tell us what sky objects you plan to take.
Just star field and milky way or Planets or DSO?

A normal dslr will perform well for Astrophotography as well. If you don't wanna spend too much, why not get a 2nd hand mod dslr? Sometimes it appears in Singastro, you will find more in Astromart and Cloudynights, alternatively there's also iceinspace which is a OZ astro forumliquidice wrote:thats one of the reason i wan to sell away the 7d initiallybeginner wrote:It is risky to mount a DSLR on the Polarie. Re: Nikon or Canon, for astrophotog
I m interested in dso , nBulae , milky way but not planet
Yeah second hand startup.
But I m looking at OTA n mount second hand only, since I haven't sell off my camera. No point having 3 camera on hand
If m42, how many mm focal length I need?
I need a portable setup n fast aperture with goto , so that I can finish my shooting within 2-3 hours before cloud comes into my picture frame
Thx for sharing your experience n advice
Appreciated
