Post by dysam »

Hi guys, I would like to ask how do I mount a st80 scope onto a celestron onyx 80edf as a guide scope. Thanks.

The ST80 is a rather large guide scope to use with an Onyx. They are basically the same size.

For this type of application a side-by-side saddle configuration would probably be easiest.

Thing is with an Onyx and its short focal length you only need a very short guide scope - such as a 50mm finder guider.

Thanks for the quick reply, how about the orion 50mm guide scope with the orion starshoot autoguider. Will that work in singapore's light polluted sky?
