Thanks Gary & Avarielle for the kinds words. Glad you like it. :D

I think a lot of people would have noticed that yesterday's night skies were exceptionally clear and cloudless (with occassional fast passing clouds). Decided to go for a shoot at a new location at the south so that I can pick up my wife at Bt Merah later. Despite rushing here & there, poor preparation and getting frustrated at a lot of hiccups during the shoot...but at the end of the day, my frustration just disappeared with these photos...

#1 - Milky Way & a meteor (Single exposure of 210 sec with astrotracer)

#2 - Milky Way above the horizon (Single exposure of 30 sec)

#3 - Milky Way & my black car (Composite of 10 sec exposure for foreground & 30 sec exposure for background)

Details & original #3 photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58196275@N04/9582484900/

Location: Tanjong Beach at Sentosa, Singapore

Thanks for viewing!
George

And yes...#3 is my lousy car that have brought me around Singapore for years :mryellow:

Awesome! If rush work can already produce this kind of quality, the best is truly yet to be!

Thanks Clifford & Gary for your kind comments :D

Gary -> the only good thing about yesterday was that the sky was sooooooo clear that I can just take a single exposure and see the milky way appearing on the LCD screen of my dslr...need not do subs for stacking. This saves me some time :mryellow:

A few shots to share from a short shoot yesterday. Same place again at Tanjong Beach, Sentosa. Sky conditions not as good as Friday, very windy and more ships out at the nearby sea. But it was still reasonable enough for single exposure shots after the high clouds/haze passed by. All photos shot using 30 seconds exposure.

#1 Interesting clouds formation

#2 Illuminating the Milky Way

#3 Signpost under the stars

Sorry for this blurry cropped image of #3 (most probably caused by wind & astrotracer) but I just want to show these photos were all taken at Sentosa [smilie=cheer.gif]

Thanks for viewing :D

How long is the beach open? if the Milky Way is visible there it might be a good alternative to the long drive up north... and safer than the creepy place in Kranji.
