Selling a used lab quality microscope for $600. Buy this for yourself, and tell your spouse its for the children.
Arrange to view without obligations. This is far better than "student" type monocular microscopes.
Comes with binocular eyepieces, mechanical X-Y stage on rack and pinion, 4 Olympus NEA objectives, made in Japan, 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x (oil), which, together with 10x eyepieces gives you magnification of 40x, 100x, 400x, 1000x (oil).
A mechanical X-Y stage is essential.. don't buy a microscope without this feature.
You also want a slide holder rather than a stage clip.
Very bright, adjustable, halogen light source. Smooth focus knobs (coarse and fine adjustments). Abbe condenser with aperture iris diaphragm.
Very sturdy, and well made microscope with good optical performance.
