Kasai Widebino28

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Kasai Widebino28

Post by byang »

Hi, I would like to find out if anyone here is using this equipment for stargazing:

Any comments on its usefulness under Singapore sky and the ease/difficulty of use, especially for those wearing glasses? Thanks!

The specs seem to break the usual calculation methods we use for binoculars, the correlation between effective aperture/magnification/exitpupil/AFOV/TFOV
My wild guess would be only 16mm out of the 40mm objective is collecting light for 7mm exit pupil of a young man. That would explain the product description of no more than 2magnitude gain.

*edit*
And yea I was wrong, this thing is different from normal binoculars
as explained here in post #38 and #86

Thanks, I am thinking that under Singapore sky one may see more of the skyglow resulting in a not so contrasty view even though some fainter objects may be visible.

There have also been report in CN that smudges caused by eyelashes were left on the lens due to the small eye relief. I guessed under our humid climate, perspiration may add to the problem.
