Hello,
I've been using Vixen Porta II and sort of fed up with how flimsy the supplied tripod is. Is there any tripod that works nice with Porta mount head with some sort of vibration suppression, preferably a wooden one? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Re: Alternate tripod for Porta II
You need an adapter to fit the Porta II to a standard photo tripod.
At present I have 3 Berlebach wooden tripods and they work quite well. The smallest is the Report series. Next is UNI, but even the smallest UNI weighs 6kg upwards.
For best prices, check out APM Germany.

At cloudynights forum , old posts ~2013 say the bottom is m10 thread ? , but last month I saw a recent post by Jon Issacs that the bottom is 3/8"

I have the adaptor that should fit the bottom of the porta azimuth gear hub to 3/8" thread , if u want can test fit
