Some tourists from Jarkarta, Indonesia who were very enthusiastic about viewing through the scope.
The one closest to the scope asked me how much does it cost.
"...somewhere in the five-figure range..."
"In Singapore Dollars? no problem, I want to buy one..."
"we have to book and wait 7-10 years for one..."
"its ok, I can wait..." and she took a photo of the brand name of the scope, and then she hugged the scope for a photo...

Hi Richard
You managed to view the Lunar eclipse? That's great! Can't see from where I was...
Looks like a good event again and congrats on being featured in the ST!

Thanks Richard-1
I enjoyed sharing the telescope views with these people. And I am pleased how the photos turned out quite well without flash at iso 12800.

Earth Hour 2016 Sidewalk Astronomy at Singapore, Orchard Road
On Saturday 19 March 2016, we celebrate Earth Hour (8:30pm to 9:30pm) here in Singapore by holding a Sidewalk Astronomy session at the well-known busy shopping promenade along Orchard Road.
We thought that it was going to be a cloudy non-event, but the sky magically cleared up at about 8pm, so we wasted no time to quickly set up the APM 100mm ED APO bino outside Mandarin Orchard Hotel.

We set up the bino so that the kids are able to view comfortably while standing. As usual, the kids love looking at the moon through a telescope. Now even better, by observing with both eyes! Their moms took photos of their kid's special experience.

The passer-bys who took a minute break to look through the binos at the moon were astounded and delighted by the view of the Moon magnified 44x with the pair of Doctor UWA 12.5mm eyepieces.

Many pedestrians who looked at the Moon through the 100mm binocular did immediately and expressively said "Wow!..."
