This trip's highlight for me would be Rosette Nebula, Orion widefield (for the 3rd time!)
hopefully LMC and Eta Carina [smilie=angel2.gif]

Hi guys, i just got back from Mersing earlier today. Or i should say yesterday since its past midnight. Friday night was terribly cloudy but Saturday was absolutely beautiful. Are you guys intending to stay at the Srikandi Resort? I'm keen to join you but unfortunately i've got an engagement on Friday, i might head up by myself on Saturday though and join you guys there if the weather looks good.

The forthcoming Mersing astronomy expedition is set on the following period in March -> 15-17.

Based on past years' response, this is a popular trip and a great experience for Messier hunters.

Do book early!

Cheers!

I wish I can join. To far to drive on my own. [smilie=dreaming.gif]

Anyway don't forget the comet. I suppose there are areas of Mersing that have clear views of the West horizons too. Visible for around 50mins after sunset.

thanks aziz for the info. yes, have been looking out for the comet stats as well and looks like we really need an obstruction-free western horizon immediately after sunset (perhaps the bridge area will be good).

update: two more vacancies.
