International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) - 12 Oct 2013

Post by Gary »

Tonight is the International Observe the Moon Night:
http://observethemoonnight.org/

*Weather permitting*, we will be conducting a stargazing session at open grounds in front of McDonald's Bishan Park. From 7.30pm till late.

Feel free to join us with or without telescopes! Follow @bishanparkastro on twitter for latest updates if we are not able to update this thread in time.

If you are deploying your telescope tonight, wherever you are, try to let others take a look at the Moon - could be your family members, friends, neighours, passer-bys. And let them know hundreds, perhaps thousand of people worldwide may be looking at the Moon at that very moment. :)

Clear skies!

Thanks to Ava and Dave for organising the event and all who came! 4 black Celestron telescopes were deployed and the crowd had a good time looking at the Moon, taking pics with their handphones and chatting about astronomy with us. Good job guys!

Moon taken with handphone through 90mm MCT. Very sharp views and no false colours visually despite the slight haze!
