Sky conditions: was only clear from 1am+ - 3am+ but sadly when the critical time came , clouds rolled in obscuring Mars and even Jupiter and stayed bad till daytime.
Johndepro, MystiQ , Bornfree , rcj and lqx : thanks for coming all the way down (even from far north!) to chat with us and make passing the cloudy times more bearable, lots of hardware and equipment discussions too...haha. had good views of Orion neb, Canis Major and Jupiter during that small window.
Also had 2 passerbys walking by, one of them is a NUS student , one's a staff
MacD (1030pm) - obs site - MacD for supper , then GreatRedSpot noticed skies clearing around 1am went to obs site again , ...then clouds rolled in around 3am+ , increased lightning strikes seen in West..
went back to MacD again.
2nd group expedition for Ison locally foiled by weather.
