Is it meant for the public? That would be so cool if it is!

They should do another one at the Science Centre and then host an obs session at the Observatory. That would have been much better.
I loved that Ann is carrying on Carl Sagan's legacy as one half of the original Cosmos team. Loved that series and have the original DVD set.
I am not too keen on Tyson doing the new series though but that's because I an upset he supported killing off Pluto as a planet (I'm with the "Pluto is a planet" faction...haha) long before the IAU killed it. In anycase, I thought Ann Druyan should have hosted the show instead as it is very much a part of her as it is of Carl Sagan.

Before th new Cosmos was announced, I had imagined that Ann would release a third edition with newer updates, updated animation & scenes and with the new portions hosted by her. This would be truly a Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan "collaboration" Cosmos that featured her and kept Carl Sagan in the series. Too bad it did not happen.

No disrespect to Ann Druyan for what she is good at but Neil Tyson can connect better with today's social-media generation just like Carl Sagan did more than 3 decades ago, e.g. Neil is active on Twitter (with 1.64 million followers), appeared in Big Bang Theory, frequent appearance on Colbert Report/The Daily Show, involved with plenty of viral videos...etc.

Through this new and updated COSMOS series, the younger generation will get to know more about Carl via Neil too. Watch the last segment of the first episode of COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey when it premieres in Singapore on 15 March - an emotional story about the Carl-Neil connection.

National Geographic Channel (NGC). In US, it premieres on 9 March on Fox-related channels and NGC. The subsequent episodes will be on NGC only.
