Big thanks to Toa Payoh Public Library all who came for the talk and live stargazing session, especially the telescope volunteers and helpers! Sky was discouraging for the whole day but miraculously cleared up enough shortly after the talk started.

Thanks to Ava for creating the beautiful bookmarks which I was able to use as prizes for impromptu quizzes during the talk. Glad to see and interact with educators coming for the event.

Thanks to James for bringing the main attraction for the live stargazing. The crowd had a wonderful view of Jupiter and Great Red Spot.

Thanks to Koko for deploying a quality and less-intimidating refractor. Kids were so excited to look through both the eyepiece and finderscope.

Thanks to Clifford for setting up his big binoculars to poison the young and old. :)

Thanks to Desmond for helping out and sharing with us interesting stories of Galaxy Forum

Thanks to John and HL for helping out despite not feeling well.

Last but not least, thanks to Dave and Alfred for helping out and taking some amazing event photos which truly captured the emotion and spirit of public outreach astronomy!

Ok. End of my Oscar thank-you speech. :)

Later in the evening, we managed to look at Mars through the 10" dob. Manage to see the ice cap and bluish and grayish albedo features! Managed to captured a noisy version of them with my mobile phone. Can't wait for Mars Opposition talk + stargazing session next month!

Here's a pic of the event taken with my phone:
