this is getting surreal! The current number now stands at 46! Thanks to Richard, Mooey, Chee Chien, Rai, Joo Beng, and Honglian for expressing interest in contributing your instruments to CP2015! Have updated the equip list on the first page of this thread for your reference. Happy New Year!!

important update: with the current number of potential instruments expected at CP2015, it is becoming unprecedented that it will be the largest telescope display here in Singapore in the context of local astronomy events. The last nation-wide event was back in ASTRONOMY2008 but even then, we had nothing close to the current potential of 46 instruments, though we had a collective of over 3000 people attending that single-day event. Going back further, we had a couple of Mars Watches, Equipment Festival, et al, but again, nothing close to 46. Some have come forth to suggest striving for 50 in conjunction with the nation's anniversary, and am pretty sure, we should be able to reach that number!

All else being said, what lies ahead is the prospect of good weather during event day. Having recee'd the site a couple of days ago, the site field is definitely able to hold all 50 setups, it is bigger than the previous C4/D1 site some of us used to go. But it will be advisable for scope owners to bring ground sheet(s) to lay their instrument components while setting up, or set up on top of the sheets. In my next post, I will share some site images and the amenities available for your reference. Some of us are planning to reach the location earlier that day, and have an early dinner at the Lagoon food centre nearby.
