World Space Week Events: Happening from THIS FRIDAY!!

World Space Week Events: Happening from THIS FRIDAY!!

During this weekend - starting on Friday - a number of very exciting events are happening in Singapore for World Space Week. All of the events are free and would be of great interest to astronomy, physics and engineering students and professors.

These include events such as:

Friday - October 10, New Space and Careers in Space Technology - NUS LT7 - 6:30PM-9:30PM

A series of very interesting talks on New Space at NUS LT 7 - starting 6:30PM and continuing on to 9:30PM; speakers include representatives from BSE, SSTA, the NUS CQT, the NUS Galassia mission, and a US startup space tech company called Terrabella. Saturday - Nano Satellites and Sustainable Uses of Space Technologies - Yale-NUS College - TCT Auditorium, 7:00-9:00PM

A series great talks about space from a cross-section of space technology companies. Will discuss sustainable uses of space tech, nano-satellites and uses of satellites for environmental preservation. The event includes talks by BSE, AstroScale, Pte, Lte, Spire, and Terra Bella. The talks begin at 7:00PM and continue on to 9:00PM. Sunday - Astrophysics Talk at Singapore Science Center - “Chasing Cosmic Explosions” - Singapore Science Center - 3:00-4:30PM

A talk by astronomer and astrophysicist Bryan Penprase on "Chasing Cosmic Explosions” - at the Singapore Sicence Center. It describes new networks of telescopes used to study supernovae, quasars, gamma ray bursts, and sources that produce gravitational radiation.
