Mersing Expedition (March 8-10)

Post by rcj »

Hi all,

Will be organizing an astronomy expedition (3D2N) once again to Mersing this coming March 8-10 (Saturday to Monday). This will be the usual trip like in the past, where the package includes the accomodation at the chalets, food, and two-way transport. The size of the response will determine what transport we are taking, either a big bus or the 12-seater mini-buses.

Registration is now open for all keen participants. We will be leaving on Saturday morning (around 10AM tentative for now) and expected to arrive back in Singapore on Monday late afternoon (provided no traffic delays, etc). Trip fees will be similar: SGD$150 per pax.

For newbies, you will get to savour part of the Winter constellations in the night, and a glimpse of the Summer ones, plus the Sagittarius Milky Way in the morning.

PM, or email remuscjremovenospam@yahoo.com

By the way , March is the time for Messier Marathon , where it is possible for all 110 Messier objects to be seen in a single night !

These objects will range from elusive galaxies in the winter constellations to the impressive globulars in the summer constellations.

For all those hunters out there , enjoy !

Hi raychan,

Yes, the wiki is a great reference for details into these trips. Note that the accommodation that we are staying in are chalets type. The package includes two-way transport, meals, and accommodation.

Current update: 14 head counts so far.... Still have vacancies!

Update: we are closing the registration for this trip by this weekend. For those on the "deciding-sitting-on-the-fence" stage, please decide soon and let me know by this Friday. We need to secure the transport and accomodation units.
