Just an update to all, the horizon is fairly bright due to the street lights along the road bordering the field. If you can ignore it, the field is huge and have a clear view of the eastern skies...

learn as u go along.. knowledge is just out there for u to find out.. cannot sit down there and just say ur knowledge is not enough.. i am also a newbie.. but after a week of joining singastro and i asked alot of questions, i already have a little more knowledge of astro (of course not all) and already know the basic things about wat scope to consider and wat scope to avoid and roughly how do some parts like EPs, optic tube, etc work.. just ask.. no one will ignore you.. ppl here are very friendly :D

i am thinking of buying a scope now.. still choosing from all range of scopes and get to choose which is the most suitable... maybe you can take a look in my thread here.. the newbie astro thread.. inside got many information that maybe newbie will ask  Have fun!! :) :D

but the most important thing is that u have to have interest before u can "hardcore" on astronomy
