June 2011 Total Lunar Eclipse Event by SSC & TASOS

nope.. the moon was covered totally the full cycle of totality :P

ohh.. i was referring to the long duration.. lol.. next eclipse that will last this long will be in 2018 :x

Lunar eclipse is not like solar eclipse, it is naturally long over a few hours from first to last contact.. No point bothering about the length of totality. In fact, a longer totality means you're gonna sit around waiting longer to see the next contact.

I was at SSC yesternight. Rain came at 3+, halfway through Transformers 1 and halfway through the moon entering totality (okay you can guess how much attention I was paying to the moon since I reported Transformers first :P). The event was well organised, only except a few kinks. My most (un)favourite kink was they paused Transformers 1 half an hour after airing to give a talk about the eclipse. Many people were quite pissed at the pause, so they didn't listen to the talk either. Wasted..
Stargazing ... is an excuse to stay up past bedtime that never fails!
