Hi,All
Thanks to the encouragement of Gary, I am thinking of posting those sunspot, prominences,CME ,filaments photos here as the sun is getting more and more active now. Our cycle 24 peaks during the year 2012,2013. They are totally unedited to preserve its scientific value. Any objections? Because when the sun is active, sunspot shape may change every 10min or so and a CME needs at least 5 photo to illustrate its changes. Filaments dances like snakes on the sun.--otherwise peeople may think I am doing some spaming. If ok,I will start with sunspot 1401,1402. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Superiorstream
Its OK to post the images but I am shifting it to astrophotography which is the relevant catgory. If the photos are about certain events rather than generic photos, you can post it under astronomy events.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Unedited Solar Images from Jan 2012 onwards
Hi,ALL
Thanks Gary for the wonderful work and Airconvent for the shift to astrophotography.Concerning these 11 sunspot 1401/2 photos, pls note the following
1)The granulation on the sun shows up as an uneven background of choatic uneven 'dots' if you look carefully.
2)The whole sequence--15 to 27 Jan is 12 days;so if you add movement to the very edge of 2 days;it adds to 14 days--consistent with the period of rotation of 28 days of the sun.
3)At its largest, the whole sunspot took 2 frames to cover.Length wise, one frame covers approx 800,000 km.
4)I never edit those images. If you had notice, one dot in the 2nd frame--on 22;25...-- is always blurr;yes it is no matter how I adjust the focus.Such blurr sunspot are rare.Editing will destroy the info. One of the reason I dont edit;but shot many and choose the 'best' in the selection.
5)Notice this active sunspot keep on changing shape. This is true of very active sunspots.
Thanks for watching and upcoming---1401/2 in Ha and Cak.However, due to the frequent haze in the sky, fewer were taken.
