Hi all,
Tried Andromeda Galaxy with the astrograph last new moon. It was well placed in the sky in the early morning hours, and seeing was above average. Never really had a full colour image till this attempt. At that moment of capture, didn't felt a lower temperature in mersing than before, which was good for the ccd camera, but taxing for the imager! Had to hold a glass of hot water throughout....
Dust lanes of Andromeda

Simply stunning!
Oh at that wee hour, I remembered the clarity of the sky.... And the cold, got to hide in the car.... Lol

Superb, pin-point faultless, Remus! Time to decommission the HST.
Hmmm... sometimes I wonder whether anyone (or thing) in M31 is imaging us even as we speak. "I say, Banaboo, that's an excellent image of The Milky Way galaxy", or whatever they call us. "I can even see the Eta Carinae HII region in your photo, and Omega Centauri too!". However, to come to think of it, they won't be imaging us now as we are today but what we were 2.1 million yrs ago. So they won't say, "There hasn't been a supernova in The Milky Way in the last 400+ yrs, it's long overdue". Perhaps they're actually now looking at some spectacular Milky Way supernova that blew up then, and we ourselves can't see it because it's already "gone". Now, that's not fair... And it's a strange thought.
