Hi Jeremy, i see that your imaging is reaching the SIFU's standard liao, congrads & keep going :P , The setup i used was pretty much the same as i had only just received the TS 65 4 Elements. So for both the Needle Galaxy (NGC4565) & Pinwheel Galaxy (M101), i used the MEADE 5000 APO ED 80mm, Imaging camera used: another one, un-mod version of DSLR, Canon 550D.
Imaging of NGC 4565 was done at Tampines roof top carpark, 50s X 30 at ISO 1600 un-guided Vixen GPD2, i also took the Markarian Chain of Galaxies at the same night, 14 May 2013. Result much better than using C6 i think is because can pull out the Hood, to cut down a lot of the stray lights. For M101, i did it at Changi Sea Side, un-mod Canon 550D

Hi Peter, sounds like you are also a TS customer, I thought was the only one.

Brother, you are imaging galaxies from Sg and I'm the sifu?

You stars are very round so it looks like u have the fundamentals correct.

Perhaps u can try looking at LPS filter as I think it really helps.

Always looking forward to your images as they have such a natural feel.

Come up on the next trip to Mersing with us!

Thanks Jeremy, Hi, KK, Kelvin and also Lton, Gary, Starfinder whom had described the Mersing Sky from another post ! the way you guys reported the place really made my heart move, okay, will try to make arrangement to join you guys for the next " makan in middle of padi field trip" .. :mryellow: May be can try to pull along Weixing  & Kimo as well, since Weixing's preposition gave me confidence to do many short exposure AP in light polluted SG, and Kimo, friend plus "Business parter".

further to the imaging session, I had the opportunity to join Mariner at ECP last evening.

Tried my new H-Alpha 7nm filter from Baader.

Test shot on the same objects.

3x5min
1x10min
1x15min

Same setup. Pardon the low res upload.

realised my CCD has some banding issue.

thanks.
