M83 Southern Pinwheel, Bedok South

M83 Southern Pinwheel Galaxy) 03 May 2014, Bedok South field, TSAPO906C, Canon 500D, ISO 1600 2 mins X 20, GPD2 50mm & SSAG guided, MaximDL captured in RAW to Disk (CR2), convert TIFF via Canon s/w for better color de-bayer result. Averaged Dark & Bias subtrated & then combined. applied Laplacian sharp to improve image slightly.

Hi Jun Wei & Kelvin, thanks, yes Kelvin M83 has a visual brightness of 7.6 & good surface brightness of 12.8, much brighter than most of the other Galaxies ..

Yes. The trees do produce quite a bit of fog. Last night seemed especially bad. But the place is dark, so I guess it compensates for it...
