Having just arrived back into SG from this morning's expedition to Mersing (yes in December's rainy weather! Please see JW's report on the trip in Events section), here is a lucky shot of a very promising comet C2014/Q2 (Lovejoy) captured early this morning. 0404UT (21 December). The comet was very easily seen through binoculars of finderscope, and through a small telescope, looked like a globular cluster but very faint tail. This shot was taken when it was at an altitude of 38 degrees, and amidst heavy passing clouds.

Nice shot. Looks like a "head strong" comet

Very nice capture Remus. Went Mersing this time of the year? You ARE feeling lucky but glad it paid off

Great shot, Remus! That can be the official photo for the Comet Party.

Thanks Kochu, Richard, and Gavin!
Below is a collaborative effort with Ivan in combining the previous luminance CCD-based data of the comet with Ivan's DSLR colour data, both sets captured during last Mersing trip.
