Thanks, Airconvent! I did a further masked stretch. The peripheral nebulosity is now more distinct:

Hi,
Nice.
Anyway, the last time I use a mod DSLR, I always had a big red "dot" in my stars after stretching. So just wonder do you have this issue and if yes, how you solve it??
Have a nice day and happy new year!

Hi Weixing,
No I do not have the issue. However, it is likely that you are experiencing CA if you are using both a full spectrum modded (clear glass replacement rather than IR cut) and refractor combo. Red (IR) fringing happens to refractors (even triplets) because they are not meant to correct into near IR. You'll probably need to insert an IR cut filter (to cut off near IR while preserving HA transmission) if you are using the DSLR with a refractor or cam lens.

Weixing,
Is the "red dot" located at the core of the star profile, or red halo around stars? Looks to me like the red dot means on star cores?
