Monster Active Region on 3 Nov 15

After several days of rain, we finally had blue sky today.

This H-Alpha image of the upper atmosphere of the Sun shows a monster active region.

More details of the active region are visible in white light. The length of this active region is about 17 times the diameter of Earth!!

Nice pics of that 180,000 km sunspot...a rare
one nowadays during declining solar activities.
